Facts 'n Work

At the top right hand corner of this web page, you will see a little text box titled "Quote of the Day". I like quotes so why not have one of the day? At the top of each blog post, I will give a brief description of this quote and talk about it a bit. It'll look like this:
Quote: My spider senses are tingling!
Today in Band (Remember? Trumpet?), my friend Adrian and I were playing like usual when she suddenly pressed her index and middle finger to her temple and squinted her eyes shut. She opened her eyes and said, "My spider senses are tingling."
See? How innocent was that? Usually my quotes will be from that day or actual quotes from famous people, movies, games, books, etc, etc. It'll be in pink at the top. This one is kind of long. They won't normally be this long.

Facts 'n Work

Wow. I'm happy in myself. I'm actually writing this. I just got home from school and the house is empty so I suppose I can squeeze in a bit of writing before I dive into the trembling waves of homework. Math homework mostly.

Here's some more facts about me I forgot to mention:
I greatly dislike math. I don't hate math. I greatly dislike it. But neither am I bad at it - I'm just inaccurate and it's not my favourite subject. I prefer English and Computer Tech more than anything.
I am generally a happy person and really hate being angry or sad. I love to joke around and I'm quite the comedian. And I'm very sarcastic about things - too bad I can't be sarcastic all the time because that would really be my day!

Also, I've decided on how my blog will be. I will discuss just about any topic... besides politics because who needs 'em? And they never make any sense, why bother. And it's also a very touchy subject. But I will discuss several point in my life. So I guess you could categorize this as a "Personal Blog". But I'm not going to be calling this thing "Diary" or anything. No "Dear Diary," this and "Dear Diary" that. And I'm not going to complain because I don't like to be a complainer even if I am. I try my hardest not to be.

Since I just got home from school, my first blog topic will be about School. (Whoa, that was predictable.)

I have not come across another person who actually enjoyed getting up at six o'clock in the morning to go to school for eight hours. I question the school board with the common question: "Why?" Why are they making this so mandatory? Why are we forced to come? Why are you making us waste the most precious years of our life in a miserable place such as school? When the teacher says, "You come here to learn!" I want to snort and say, "No, I come to school because it's the law."

There are many downsides to school. You're exposed to a lot of people and about 90% of my friends (and probably yours) were made a school because you're there most of the time. But you're exposed to people and we're only human and we're bound to argue and dislike other people. I've come across a lot of people who don't like who I am. But I don't care anymore. And if you're having trouble with people bullying you... just brush it off. They don't know what they're talking about. Most of the time, bullies make fun of people because they feel insecure about themselves. Shake it off and don't jump to any extremes either... And you know what I mean.

Sure, bullying is an issue and so is supposedly meeting that "special someone", which I think is a load of BS. (Another favourite quote of mine, "Did anyone elses' bullshit meter just go off?!" --Baird, Gears of War.) I don't have a boyfriend and I... semi-had one. It wasn't completely announced and it was in Elementary. We never kissed okay... for those wondering some. We still talk and stuff but I honestly come to school to learn and talk to my other friends - I most likely won't meet my soul-mate a school and I still have a lot of time to think about this kind of stuff. I want to get a decent education before I make any hasty decisions like that.
I don't know about you, but in our school people are getting new boyfriends like party favours. "Oh, someone-so is going out with someone-so!" "Wait, weren't they going out with someone-so?" "Oh no, they broke up last week." I feel sorry for those who think that they always need a guy or a girlfriend figure in their life. It's not required guys. You don't need one. I honestly tried to get in the swing of things, listening to gossip and people talk about girlfriends and boyfriends but it was just too confusing so I gave up. Don't get yourself tangled up in that stuff - it's pointless and will get you no where.

But despite all the bad sides of school, it's still a great opportunity to meet new people and learn - of course. I've met a lot of people through school - oh yeah, boatloads of people. And school shapes you into the person you are - makes you unique and who you are. Don't let people take control of your life. Don't be "in the box" so to speak. Here, let me explain the "box" situation.

Ahem. Okay, imagine a box. Okay got it? Good, now, all the popular people with all the newest stuff is inside the box. This is the "norm". Be outside of the box. Break away from the crowd, be the only black sheep in the white pasture. You gotta be unique or you'll just a puppet your entire life.
So, whenever someone steps out of the box, everyone freaks out. They look at you like your an alien, tease you, taunt you, bully you. Shake it OFF! Because you're going to be the wealthy one whenever everyone can't get a job at McDonalds. Wow, this blog post is turning into a life lesson. It's all true - trust me. I love to help people and I'm hopefully doing you a favour.

Look, school is simple if you break it down. Just do your work - find people you can trust and laugh with. But be flexible. Don't shut everyone out because then you'll never fit in. Give life a chance. And maybe you'll be something great.

Before I get more patriotic and decide I want to play the American National Anthem, I'm going to wrap up. I am so happy in myself. I actually wrote a decent blog post. Hoo-rah for me!
