At School:
Sorry for the abesnce of blog-writing-ness. I have been fairly busy and homework has been really heavy for me lately. For me, this week has been going by in hyperspeed - I generally feel like I'm lacking time. I don't feel like I have enough time to do anything anymore. I asked my mom about it... she said this was just a busy time of the year.. and frankly she's right.
Okay, I don't really have a specific topic to blog about today. I'm switching between telling you about my day and actually sticking to a blog topic. Do you mind? Oh, okay, that's what I thought. Lol. It's not like I'm giving you a choice or anything.
You might or might not be aware of the novel I'm in the process of editing/rewriting, Xenophobia and I have some great news to announce... Xenophobia is now 91 pages and about 33,000 words, six chapters and three parts. Boom! That's what I'm talking about. I've been working on this for about... well, I started rewriting it at the beginning of this year so... *counts on fingers, naming the months* ten months... more or less. It's around there, I'm sure of that. I've spent so long writing this... and I'm really cracking down and getting it written. I have to share this with you. This is a paragraph from the fifth chapter, tell me what you think:
Bower was willing to step over the boundaries. He didn't care if General Keller was a General or if he was knocking some sense into a Private. Rank didn't matter to him; it was the man you were, not the rank and using that rank as a shield to hide your true self was pathetic. I knew Bower well enought to know that.
I just couldn't resist the urge to share that. Tell me what you think.
Okay, I'm going to get things rolling.
Today is... Thrusday. Monday - I don't remember Monday... See? What did I tell you, my memory is horrible. No, I take that back. I know remember vital information... but that could be a problem because sometimes I don't know what is vital information or not... =/
Tuesday - we had a friggin' fire drill. It was kinda funny actually. I was sitting in Activity, doing my Spanish homework. So this is what happened...
Juan no es -
I could hear the familiar blaring alarm far down the hall, like the alarm hadn't been triggered in our room. Everyone let out a simutanously and the alarm finally went off in our room. It was like a chain reaction.
Our teacher lesiurely stood up and said, "Fourteen."
FOURTEEN WHAT?!
Note: this is the first ever fire drill I've had in 8th grade. We had one in 7th but that was weird because we were in band.. We were in the middle of playing one of our songs when all of a sudden I could vaguely hear an alarm. All the music began to fade and it was actually really funny.
So, totally clueless and unaware of what "fourteen" meant, I start for the front entrance. I just followed the mob. I wasn't even sure if I was going the right way to begin with... But, I kid you not, my ears were bleeding. I don't mean the literal. But my ears were aching inside. I didn't know how MANY fire alarms were in the hallways. My ears were burning and aching and they were still blaring. Of course, you could see me, fingers jammed in my ears and stumbling through the hallway - bumping into people.
Like THAT was a load of fun...
Wednesday... nothing absolutely special.
I honestly don't have as much to blog about as I actually thought. Oh wow, I failed.
Ooh! I posted another poll; do it and I'll greatly appericate it.
If it makes you laugh, I got pegged by yet ANOTHER acorn today. This one was in the classroom actually... Which was weird. The acorns are in season and they are pissed off.
That will be my ultimate demise... pelted by acorns to death.
Wow, and HOW would you tell everyone else in heaven. While there are soliders, telling their couragous deaths, I'm over there pouting in the corner and feeling completely embarrassed because ACORNS killed me.
Yep, I bet you ANYTHING that will happen... Five bucks anyone?
DEATH BY ACRON DX
ReplyDeleteyeah it DOES seem like a busy week eh? I had a half day today...so I feel speshal :) and uh...yeah. I have so much work to do, and to top it all of most of the work is self-imposed.(extra credit and the like)BUUUT, I DID find out what part I am in our school musical! :D I ish the CAT IN THE HAT! and I'm very much excited 'bout the whole thing. hmmmm, fire drills are LAME, dey hurts. DX and everyone always jumps. Last time...some girl screamed. Like, REALLY SCREAMED. And we were in teh LIBRARY for crying out loud.... -__-"
0_o Wow, acorns really do hate you :S Not only does that suck, it's just...freaky. This is the fourth-fifth time you've been pegged? Acorns deserve to be burned. No. Just kidding. Honestly though, I have no clue what squirrels see in them. On the way home from school today, I had this funny vision in my head of me biking through this trail with a bunch of random squirrels sitting on trees, glaring at you. Then suddenly, they all whip out acorn machine guns and acorn cannons, etc and start pegging me and my friends with them. Yes, it was a weird vision, but I'm a weird person, so there you have it.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, that excerpt was awesome! Pretty deep too-you know, the message behind it. That's the one you're getting published right? (That must be the third time I've asked that) Sorry-I can never get names straight. Often times, I call my friend Connor Karson and Karson Kyle or Kyle Charlies or Charles leigh...yeah, you get the point.
Are you going to submit your story via email or by mail? Wait-do people even use mail still...? 0_o
Ninja,
ReplyDeleteLucky. I have an early release TODAY. And it's raining... Well, the early release makes up for it.
OH MY TATTERTOTS! You're gonna be the CAT IN THE HAT! That's amazing! Congrats. I was in a musical once. I was the main bad guy. Weird isn't? A little bit of irony? I got arrested at the end of the musical by a cop HALF my size. (I'm not that tall) And my name was Doris for CRYING OUT LOUD!
Lol. See, I'm easy to scare but I don't FLIP OUT when a fire alarm goes off. I just sigh and get up and go through the motions yadda, yadda.

Chiaki,
ReplyDeleteAcorns have something against me... I'm not sure WHAT but I shall find out! *flies away*
Oh man... O_O Okay, I can handle machine guns but... if the ammunition are ACORNS. TAKE COVER!! *dives behind barrier, evading hail of acorns*
Oh thank you! I liked that quote a lot. Yes, this is the one I'm going to eventually published. With the rate I'm writing at now which is... I've gotten at least ONE page out of myself every day. I think I'm doing good. I want to get to Part Four in my book by my birthday. (December) I want to finish it by mid-early next year. Hopefully... :/
Don't worry - about the names thing. I call my friends all kinds of things... I called a bunch of my friends my little brothers name... -.- And I called my first grade teacher Mom...
